Inspiring kick-off meeting for EU MSCA-ETN SOCRATES

On February 8, 2017, the EU Horizon 2020 MCSA-ETN SOCRATES kicked off in Leuven. The newly recruited Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) presented themselves along with their supervisors and the representatives of the partner organisations.

On February 9, the ESRs followed a soft-skills training covering Intellectual Property rights. This training was also followed by the 15 ESRs from the twin project, ETN NEW-MINE, which also kicked off the same week.

Finally, on February 10, the ESRs enjoyed a unique site visit to the Metallo’s non-ferrous recycling plant in Beerse, Belgium (including its brand new Zn fumer plant), which was combined with a S/T training on plasma metallurgy.

The ESRs will now return to their host locations and start their research, full of energy obtained in this inspiring recruitment event.
