Official Kick-off meeting (February 2017)

What, When & Where

The MCSA ETN SOCRATES kick-off meeting will take place on 8-10 February 2017 in Leuven. During the kick-off meeting, the 15 newly recruited Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) and their supervisors, together with representatives of the partner organisations, and the project management will present themselves and discuss the start-up of the SOCRATES project.

On Wednesday 8 February at 9h00 am, participants congregate at Novotel in Leuven (15’ from the airport by train) for the kick-off meeting. After the meeting, a kick-off dinner is offered. Thursday, the ESRs participate to the Intellectual Property Training (IPR); supervisors and partners can participate on a voluntary basis. On Friday, a site visit to the Metallo’s non-ferrous recycling plant in Beerse (incl. new Zn fumer plant) is combined with a S/T training on plasma metallurgy.

Who?

Early Stage Researchers (ESRs), their supervisors and colleagues, representatives of the partner organisations and members of the management team are invited to participate to the kick-off event.

Practicalities

All participants are expected to be present on Wednesday 08/02 at the latest at 9h00 at Novotel Leuven (15’ from Brussels airport by train, 5’ walking distance from railway station). Participants should make their own hotel arrangements. Novotel Leuven offers room at a rate of 146,20 Euro. Please make your reservation using the form at the bottom of this document. Other nearby hotels are Park Inn Hotel, Hotel Ibis budget, Hotel Industrie and Hotel La Royale.
